Breathing is so essential that the body has decided to do it autonomously. Even if we don't think about it, we usually breathe 18 times a minute, 1080 times an hour, 25920 times a day, because breathing is life! And yet our breathing is subordinate to our will. We hold our breath when we dive. We blow out candles and can control our voice by regulating our breathing.
